Rise Advisory Profit Potential Calculator

See what small improvements could mean for your bottom line

Model the effect of better pricing, more work through your existing team, tighter direct costs, improved labour efficiency and leaner overheads.

Built for trades and construction

Start with the business you have today

Use annual figures from the same financial period. The model works from your existing cost structure rather than a generic margin assumption.

Step 1 of 3Your current numbers
Current business

Enter your annual numbers

Keep wages separate from cost of sales. This lets the model show the value of putting more work through your existing team.

$
Total annual sales before costs.
$
Materials, subcontractors, hired plant and other costs that rise with work volume.
$
Your existing team wage cost.
$
Vehicles, rent, software, admin, insurance and other operating overheads.

Step 2 of 3Build a realistic scenario
Profit levers

What could you improve without rebuilding the business?

The levers are connected. More sales increase cost of sales because you are delivering more work. They do not automatically increase wages or overheads because this scenario assumes spare capacity in your existing team and structure. Price increases raise revenue without increasing work volume.

About the Rise reference. The cost-mix diagnostic is designed as a broad reference for New Zealand trades and construction businesses. Rise Advisory has normalised broad industry evidence into a practical three-bucket working model of approximately 70% cost of sales, 18% wages and 12% overheads, measured as a share of total operating costs. The model is informed by Stats NZ Annual Enterprise Survey data, the Stats NZ Business Performance Benchmarker and NZ construction-sector analysis. It is a conversation starter, not a rule that every trade business should have the same structure.
